October has numerous events across the country (and Europe) of interest. AASHE, the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, has two of note, both of which are listed below. One is their annual conference and the other a nationwide celebration. Another nationwide event taking place this month is the National Solar Tour, where people with solar features open their homes to the public.
Many of Nick Grue’s recent articles have looked at the confluence of climate change and infrastructure. Among those, he looked at preparations before disasters hit. Saint Louis University is hosting a related conference at the end of the month (details below) that looks at how to recover from catastrophes in a more sustainable fashion.
Lastly, we want to highlight an online course that is beginning this month. Gaia Education is offering a year long course starting on October 16th titled: Gaia Education Design for Sustainability.
Take a look at some of the choice events and peruse our calendar for conferences near you. Please let us know of any conferences, events, or festivals in your area. If they are appropriate, we will gladly add them to our green events calendar. Send us an email with the event’s name, date, location, description, and website.
